St. Luke's has been ministering in Anchorage and Eastern Jefferson County since 1874.
We are past our 135th year of mission and ministry. We are blessed to have a beautiful place of worship which is located in the idyllic village of Anchorage. More important than bricks and mortar, we are blessed with a gracious and welcoming group of people who work hard to welcome the stranger and to be there for each other in good times and bad.
Over the past few years God has blessed us with growth and we want to be good stewards to the people He sends our way. We desire to resist complacency and instead to honor the Lord by moving from maintenance to mission and from a sense of survival to service. We are a congregation rooted in the Anglican tradition with its dignified and lovely worship.
Besides being centered in the Prayer book, we are devoted to the Word of God as found in the Holy Scriptures. We acclaim Jesus the Christ as our Lord and Saviour and know Him to be the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We hope to be a faithful community that is welcoming and at the same time a people that is on a journey of discovery together.
